Sarah Palin - Modern secessionist? Harbinger of the new Confederacy?

Sarah Palin is the new darling of the conservatives at the Republic National Convention. However, the more I see about her the more I am even more apprehensive about a McCain win. McCain's judgement is made even more questionable in that the proper vetting process probably was not carried out. Not only is she ethically questionablein many respects, it has come to light that she is a former member of the Alaskan secessionist Alaska Independence Party, which is the second largest party in Alaska. The AIP advocates secession of Alaska from the United States and contends that statehood is a sham forced upon Alaskans. Its more radical adherents contend that our troops stationed in Alaska are "occupation forces" and that Alaska was not offered legal options under international law. Its motto is "Alaska First, Alaska Always." Sarah Palin made a video address to open the party's 2008 convention.

This video has convention a speaker which contends that Sarah Palin was "their perfect candidate" and that she joined the Republican party to "go along to get along."

However, the party has never really been violent and has in its existence prusued the ballot box as its way of bringing change.

I am interested in CNG vehicles because they are good for the environment and aren't powered by dead Marines. I still have a little hope for the world. Read the musings and enjoy.
